Max Streicher     Works     Vita
*1958, Canada

These mostly figurative sculptures of the renowned artist Max Streicher often amaze because of their gigantic measure and mainly because of the way they are made. A white skin is vitalised with the help of air. Streicher’s sculptures are cut and sewn by hand from white parachute cloth. Motors inject them with air, making them look alive. The atmosphere in the room changes according to the shape and size of the figures. They create a dialogue with the surrounding space. The violability and sensitivity of the body are seen from a new perspective.
