Still´s Life: Catalogue of Ina Geißler 04/02/10

"A major theme for Ina Geißler is painting picture spaces. This defines the productive contradiction that feeds her work, and infuses her paintings with their specific pictorial dynamics: It is the conflict-turned-fertile between the flat picture carrier and the interlocking units of spaces, composed of numerous painted lines, surfaces and structures that are interwoven to form a highly complex picture whole." (Editor Peter Lodermeyer)

Groupshow with Susi Jirkuff 22/12/09

"We all have to live somewhere — a fact, a necessity, an obligation, a burden, a convention and a social norm," writes Ingeborg Strobl on her concept in the catalogue for the exhibition WIR WOHNEN at the Kunstraum Niederoesterreich.
Strobl combines artists' videos, images, objects and installations in an idiosyncratic manner and beyond the aesthetics of high-gloss architecture or design magazines. She composes an atmospheric three-dimensional image of 'home' as a heterogeneous unity of personal sensibility and banality, of necessity, absurdity and yearnings.
Susi Jirkuff is showing her new videoanimation "Opens from Inside“.

ATHENS VIDEO ART FESTIVAL May 14th-17th 12/05/09

On the festival of digital arts and new media at Technopolis Athens, Greece, gallery artist Boris Eldagsen will be showing his video installation NO CURE.
Based on the structure of karaoke, the 4-channel video installation NO CURE   features four 80-year-old Germans, singing the lyrics of three The Cure -songs: Cold, One Hundred Years and Sinking. As the electronic score composed by Melbourne composer David Chisholm uses leitmotifs of Richard Wagner\'s opera Götterdämmerung (Twilight of the Gods) to accompany the lyrics, the work drifts into a poetic and eerie comment on the transience of life and memory.
